THE PARADOX

Dear smile,
Why do you shy so?
Dear tears,
Can you never be easily repressed?
Does smiling through tears
Entertain beauty?
Does bravery through fears
Inculcate strength?
Do thoughts on an empty mind
Muster passion?
Do thankfully forgotten memories
Ever fade?
The soul burns, rips and douses,
A silence assembles its little noises,
The biased preacher and the naïve listener
Reject rationality, reject mankind.
It is a comfort to believe in
One truth,
It is a luxury when they
Believe the same.
And there you stand among
Multitudes and tides
Waiting for that one moment where you
Ought to shine…
It isn’t today, nor is it tomorrow,
Yesterdays are gone, lost to the shadow
Of time and space,
And all that is left is
A numb, biased, improvised fact,
Rebellion,
And you.

SCREAMS FROM WONDERWORLD

A tickle in the stomach
Lets out a strange sound
In a foreign tongue
Queer to normality.
A breath-capturing step
In a green green world
An impossibility of an experience
Lands you in a wonder-world.
Your fall was frightening.
Your fall was everlasting.
Now the cold hard ground
Glares down at you furiously.
With trembling limbs,
And cheeks stained with tears
And a throat dry of screaming,
You stand and turn the world around.
Not good enough. Never good enough.
Too big or too small.
How do you fit through that door.
Why must you fit through that door?
It is a door
And you need some air.
Is there air behind that door?
You peek. It is not
What you were looking for.
Clueless fat men, a hyper-active mouse,
You’re late for tea!
What tea?
This was never meant to be.
Yet, here you are…
Here you are.
In that world you dreamed of…
A wonder-world,
Distant from home,
No Oz, just your wits,
Do you really wish to get back home?
Stand tall, my friend.
Time stretches, but it won’t be long.
Another door awaits.

Train your heart to be strong.

Escapallure

Catterpillars in the night
A creak and a creep by the leaf
Bending and shimmering by the breeze now full
For that striding pompous chief
A trickle of sweat by the brain
A lustful raindrop by the lip
A dried out trace of a tear on the cheek
A steely determined grip.
We trip together and laugh
We slip together by the dew
The stars twinkle and skies light up
Red and orange and bright blue
Tired eyes watch on
The world begins once more
No walls, no ceiling and no marble floor
It’s time…
Push past that broken door.

Movements of the Shadow Realm

Waiting in the shadows
A young man, a young woman,
A mother, a brother
A child, an elder,
Counting down
Three, two, one!
Stepping out
Marching loud
Two, three, four,
A million follow,
Banners out,
Silent screams:
“Hear me!
Hear me now!”
And it rains
The thunder bursts
And the poison enters the veins,
Tears, blood-shot eyes...
Still they struggle
They stand, they hurt,
The pain, it bleeds,
Bleeds and burns,
And another declaration,
Ushers forth the nation
The vacuum, it sucks,
Leaves no air,
None for the wordless voice,
No air for life...
Once more they wait,
By the shadows they lie,
Some fear and run,
Tied down for life.
Now cowards too wait,
With those who weep
Cry out in pain
Count down again.
Truth, silenced, one-sided,
And bleeding hearts chided:
Three, two, one, move,

Till every word proves true!

Whisper Unspoken...

If only I had the power to cause a permanent
Change in the way every one is treated.
If only I could be more than just a silent whisper,
More than just a blot of ink upon a page.
If only there were worlds bowing down to my words
Understanding their wrongs and bringing about
That change that would wipe a million tears,
Cause the wind to blow with the sighs of relief
And tremble in the explosion of world-wide cheers.
If only...
But, I am just a silent whisper,
A single scratch of ink on paper,
A helpless observer in a mighty plot,
A mere puppet with many-a-puppeteer,
A ragdoll in the corner, collecting dust...
Yet!
Yet I hold onto that melting candle-wax,
That single flickering flame of hope,
Like a twinkling star shut away in the dark,
A lengthy legend of a tale untold,
A voice unheard in the multitude of roars.

Present-Past...

A breath in the oblivion, a space in time,
A crumpled paper, a lost rhyme,
A shard of glass, a blade of grass,
A song unsung, an emotional crass,
A watchful whisper through the night,
A dancing shadow, the tides of plight,
A searching hand, a comforting grasp,
A summer tree, a humming wasp,
A body of warmth, a heart of love,
Spirit of the night, song of the dove,
A second on the clock, a print in history,
A prayer to science, fact and mystery,
A relieving sigh, a smiling mile,
A broken crust of a crumbling while,
A dreaded hurdle, the instinctual leap,
A pulsing vein, a world to reap,
An impossibility, a living soul,
A heightened crater, an empty whole,
A mystic rhythm of an ancient lore,

A survivor, a fighter and some more...

Release me... {#ImmortalChroniclesOfAMortalWorld_5}

I can see the flame burning in your eyes
I’ve watched them watching you
I’ve noticed them wary, I’ve seen the need
You can look away. I let you go.
Go find what you seek and don’t look back
For when those eyes glimpse me
It burns, I break, I’m lost, I’m gone
I’m not what you’re looking for.
I see you seeking a distant cloud
Upon a distant land, a land forbidden
Go ahead, don’t look back now,
Please, just leave, and let me heal.
There’s nothing that’s left any longer
No further depth to fall
A slip and it’ll all be gone
Nothing left to be mourned.
I may fade into non-existence
I may just lay there still
Or I may, impossibly may,
Find the will to climb again
Find that will again to try
Find that determined foothold and leap
Into the untouched sky
I may fly...

Truly, may I?

The Hidden Message

They say that ads are needed
To show you all things new
Promote and sell those objects
In any store near you!
We see them round every corner
We pass them on every street
In TV commercials and papers,
Even recite them in our sleep!
We learn through them of things
That we didn’t know before,
Like you need to have whiter skin
For careers, love life and more?
We learn that to be thought beautiful
We must look so much younger
Wrinkles and pimples aren’t natural
And, with every soap, get a free daughter!
And God forbid every perfume
Must be sprayed for a sexual partner
And that drinking flavoured milk
Will make you taller, stronger, sharper?
And if objects don’t sell, (oh dear!)
We strip some stars for sale so lusty
Excite those unchecked hormones
To buy six-packs and chests busty!
There’s nothing to deny these images
Terrible money-hungry advertisers spread
No lesson learnt from those million cases
That cigarettes bring up the dead!
Capitalists, opportunists, commercial tyrants,
Never stop, never care, never think,
Money is power, power is life,
Rich lives for a few, all the rest may sink.
Yet once in every blue moon
There’s one commercial that will shine
A pair of squirrels, a message of love,

And, like comets, vanish, flashing through time.
